Spiro Palmer, founding principal of Palmer Properties, immigrated from Greece in 1973 to join the family florist business in Boulder, Colorado.  Within two years, Spiro and his wife, Angela, relocated to Fort Collins and opened the first Palmer Flowers retail store downtown. With a vision of growth for Palmer Flowers, Spiro invested in his first real estate venture in 1978 – a 7,550 square foot building downtown for $80,000 and his love of real estate began.

Spiro continued to remain vested in the floral business; however, his ability to build creative strategies to maximize the value of an investment became instrumental in partnering with existing business owners, helping them achieve their real estate goals through joint ventures and build-to suits.

In 2007, with more than 10 investment projects successfully executed and the development of a 43,500 square foot Class-A office building underway, Spiro expanded Palmer Properties to offer owner and third-party property management services based on the proven best practices created over the previous 18 years.

Today, Palmer Properties offers a full range of management, accounting, redevelopment, and marketing services to over 750,000 square feet throughout Northern Colorado. Our portfolio continues to expand with a mix of office, retail, and industrial projects. Our goal is to continue to offer our clients creative opportunities to maximize their investment and support them through long-term relationships that encompass all their commercial real estate needs.

1973

Spiro Palmer immigrated to the United States from Greece to join the family floral business in Boulder, Colorado. Knowing little English and having few contacts, Spiro relied on his ability to build meaningful relationships to connect with his new community.

1976

Spiro and his wife, Angela, relocated to Fort Collins in large part thanks to its welcoming atmosphere and their desire to connect with a community that shared the same goals and passions.  They opened their first Palmer Flowers retail store in downtown Fort Collins.

1978

With a vision of growth for Palmer Flowers and a deep passion for real estate and development, Spiro invested in his first real estate venture – a 7,550 square foot building downtown for $80,000.

1980’s and 1990’s

Spiro continued to remain vested in the floral business, while furthering his ability to focus on his desire to build creative strategies to maximize the value of an investment. This became instrumental in partnering with existing business owners, helping them achieve their real estate goals through real estate joint ventures and build-to suits.

2007

With more than 10 investment projects successfully executed, and the development of a 43,500 square foot Class A Office Building underway at 3711 JFK Parkway, Spiro opened Palmer Properties offering owner and third-party property management services based on the best practices developed over almost two decades of experience. Fulfilling a lifelong dream to create a true family business, sons Aki and Jim also joined the company as co-developers and investors.

2008

The Great Recession was felt globally with the development industry deeply impacted, but Spiro was able to largely manage its effects locally through once again relying on the strength of his relationships. This mutual trust between owners, developers, contractors, and tenants allowed for a spirit of holding on and getting through the crisis together.

Present

Today, Palmer Investment & Development offers a full range of management, accounting, redevelopment, construction, and marketing services to over 750,000 square feet of office, retail and industrial projects.

Palmer Properties is a top-notch organization with true professionals successfully managing every aspect of a complex property management and real estate development business. Their culture of high standards and ethical business practices is seen in the quality of their work and interactions with the community. Thank you, Palmer Properties!
